Pottenger's cat

One study wont to duplicate the claims of raw food being superior to roast food is Francis M. Pottenger, Jr.'s study of 900 cats over a amount of ten years from 1932 to 1942.[10] His results showed that cats that were fed 2/3 meat, 1/3 milk and atiny low quantity of cod liver oil were sickness free and healthy whereas those fed an equivalent food with the meat roast developed chronic diseases and fruitful difficulties, with new generations overrun with health issues. The study was done before the importance of taurine during a cat's diet was legendary and it's been recommended that the cluster of Pottenger's cats on roast food merely suffered from taurine deficiency as heating or change of state food causes a discount in taurine content.[11] during a study on feline maternal taurine deficiency, the cluster of taurine-deficient cats exhibited symptoms the same as the Pottenger's cats on a roast diet.[12]
In another study, the cats were fed 2/3 milk and 1/3 meat. All teams were fed meat with completely different teams obtaining raw, pasteurised, evaporated, sweetened-condensed, or raw, metabolized D milk. The cats on milk were the healthiest whereas the remainder exhibited variable degrees of health issues the same as the previous cooked-meat study.[13] This study has been cited by milk proponents as proof of the advantages of milk.
